We all need a reason for what we do…And mine is…
I am a retired nurse.
I have been a nurse practitioner in a VA-CBOC (Community-Based Outreach Clinic).
And I was worried-every time he was late coming home that he wouldn’t be coming home.
I know he died from Agent Orange.
I know he deserves recognition for giving his life for this country and for all of us.
…and I KNOW NO ONE ELSE IS STANDING UP! So please stand with me!
I wish our family had more time.
I wish our sons could have truly known Curt before
his heart attacks and stroke.
I wish he could have played with our grandchildren.
And I am still sad, lonely, and
I miss him.
I want his sacrifice, his suffering to have meaning.
I know he would have done it all again.
And I know there are so many others who are feeling the same.
Please know-We are not alone, but they deserve recognition-

Why This Matters -
We all Need a Reason
I wrote this poem, “The War Still Took My Life” for Curt in haste to meet a mortuary timeline.
It may not be “good”, but it is real.
Please contact me if you would like to use it.
